Welcoming Rob Harrison-Lacey, Ecology Director
We are thrilled to announce that Rob Harrison-Lacey has joined Southern Ecological Solutions (SES) as a director, bringing with him over 16 years of experience in environmental consultancy. Rob’s journey into ecology began in his childhood, growing up with a deep connection to nature. From a young age, he was drawn to the natural world, exploring woodlands, rivers and meadows and fostering a lifelong passion for conservation that continues to shape his career today.
Rob’s extensive experience spans various sectors, including public and private projects, where he has worked on planning, conservation and environmental research. His technical expertise covers a wide range of ecological practices such as environmental net gain, natural capital and ecological project management. He is well-versed in botanical surveys, UK Habitat Classification and river morphometry, with a particular interest in upland and aquatic habitats.
Rob is also highly experienced in species surveys, having worked with several protected species, including great crested newts, water voles and badgers. He holds multiple Natural England licences and is known for his meticulous approach to fieldwork and his commitment to environmental sustainability.
Reflecting on his career, Rob shares: “Growing up, I was always surrounded by nature. That early connection to the environment sparked a deep passion within me to protect and conserve it. Joining SES feels like a perfect fit, as I get the chance to contribute to meaningful projects that make a difference, both for wildlife and for the communities we serve.”
As part of the SES team, Rob will work closely with colleagues across the RSK Group to deliver high-quality ecological consultancy services. His expertise will help expand SES’s reach, particularly in large-scale botanical surveys and ecological planning initiatives. Rob’s enthusiasm for team collaboration and his drive to tackle exciting new challenges will be instrumental as SES continues to grow.
We are excited to have Rob on board and are confident that his passion for the environment and his wealth of knowledge will significantly contribute to our success. We look forward to achieving great things together in the years to come!
