The annual tournament brought together more than 250 professionals from across the energy sector, with 16 teams competing in a lively and competitive showcase of skill, determination, and teamwork. From the first whistle, the atmosphere was electric, with high-quality play and strong sporting spirit evident throughout.
A Memorable Final
SES secured the title after a gripping final against Mackbrooksgas Ltd. In a closely contested match, it was Harry Lane who made the decisive impact, scoring the winning goal to seal victory and crown SES champions of the 2026 Energy Transition Cup.
The win reflects the commitment and teamwork demonstrated by the SES squad across the tournament, with consistent performances leading them all the way to lifting the trophy.
Supporting an Important Cause
While the football delivered excitement on the pitch, the event also had a powerful purpose off it. The tournament successfully raised over £13,500 for National Energy Action (NEA), the UK’s leading fuel poverty charity.
With more than 6 million households in the UK currently facing fuel poverty, the funds raised will contribute to NEA’s vital work supporting vulnerable communities struggling to afford heating and essential energy needs.
A Collective Achievement
SES extends thanks to the organisers, participating teams, and supporters who made the event such a success. The day highlighted not only the strength of competition within the sector, but also the shared commitment to making a positive impact.
